ITA Pre-Qualifying Results 
Tulsa, Okla. - The SMU men's tennis team had a successful weekend at the pre-qualifying singles tournament for the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships, in Tulsa, Okla. Four Mustangs made it to the third round of the tournament, including Bryan Griffin who advanced to fourth round play.
Griffin defeated Highland Park native and current Texas Longhorn Rook Schellenberg, 6-4, 6-4 in the third round. Schellenberg came into the tournament as the 29th ranked player overall. Griffin later fell 5-7, 6-4, 9-11 to Filip Miljevic of Illinois State.
Other Mustangs to make it to third round play included Darren Walsh who defeated Josh Finkelstein of UC-Santa Barbara in round two, 6-2, 6-0 to move on. Walsh lost a heartbreaker, 7-6 (2) in the first set of the third round before falling 6-2 in the second set to the 28th seed overall Adrian Skogeng Forberg.
Artem Bardach picked up another win for the Mustangs over a ranked opponent, defeating the 26th overall player in the tournament Jeremy Tweedt, 7-5, 6-2 in the second round. David Costa rounded out the SMU quartet to make it to third round play, defeating Utah player Dmitry Mamedov by default.
SMU will return to action this week at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships, as the main draw in both singles and doubles gets underway. Full results will be made available at the conclusion of the weekend.
