Sophomore doubles tandem Darren Walsh and Adham el-Effendi scored an exciting win (8-6) over Cameron's Daniel Pazos and Diego Trojano after moving into the number one spot for the Mustangs. The match clinched the doubles point for SMU, as junior Robin Fahgen and freshman Gaston Cuadranti paired up earlier to triumph (8-1) in the third spot.
"I was really impressed with Darren and Adham's ability to rise to the occasion, and against a very good Cameron doubles team no less," said head coach Carl Neufeld. "It was actually really fun to watch."
Fahgen dominated in the number one spot against Pazos to obtain a victory (6-3, 6-0) in his singles match and improve his record to 5-0 on the season, while Walsh and el-Effendi remained undefeated by securing wins against their respective opponents. Cuadranti finished off Carlos Viscarra after battling it out in the first to a tiebreaker (7-6, 6-2).
