GREEN BAY, Wisc. (SMU)-SMU men's tennis (6-3) traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin on Saturday, February 14 where the Mustangs handed UW-Green Bay (0-6) their sixth consecutive loss (6-1) of the season, while No. 46 SMU continued their six-match win streak.
SMU began the match with a doubles sweep, with sophomores Artem Baradach and Bryan Griffin successfully pairing up for the first time this season to record a win (8-3) over UW-Green Bay's number one doubles team, Eric Plaushines and Henning Jess.
Junior Robin Fahgen and sophomore Adham el-Effendi remained undefeated as Fahgen posted a win (6-2, 6-1) over Plaushines in the number one singles spot, and el-Effendi defeated Jess in straight sets, after a first set tiebreaker (7-6, 6-3). In other singles action, Baradach prevailed in a three-set win (6-1, 5-7, 8-2) over Phoenix Matt Clegg, while Costa fought through a double set tiebreaker for a victory (7-6, 7-5).
The Mustangs return to action against Minnesota (4-1) at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15 in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Baseline Tennis Center.
