Austin, Texas (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team finished eighth at the 43rd-annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate at the par-71, 7,412-yard University of Texas Golf Club on Tuesday, March 31. SMU carded a final-round 309 and finished just six strokes out of fifth. The Mustangs did better No. 20 Texas A&M by seven shots.

Kelly Kraft led SMU, finishing tied for ninth at 9-over 222 after shooting 72-74-76. Max Buckley (73-77-77) tied for 29th at 228, besting teammate James Kwon (74-76-79-T30) by one shot. Ben Tewes' final-round 76 saw him jump to 50th at 233, while Marc Sambol (83-72-85-T80) slipped to 80th.
