SMU vs. TULSA
SMU is 22-3-1 in the all-time series against Tulsa. The teams last met Oct. 29, 2009, when the Mustangs defeated the Golden Hurricane 3-1. Shelby Harweck tallied a goal and an assist, while Kenzie Scovill and Logan May also netted goals for SMU.
MUSTANGS NO. 45 IN RPI
SMU is 45th in the country in this week's NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) released this week. The RPI is based upon results and strength of schedule, and is used to seed teams in the NCAA tournament.
MUSTANGS FALL TO KNIGHTS
SMU was defeated by Central Florida 3-0 Oct. 24. UCF started the scoring with a goal on a header just 1:11 in to the game. The Knights added goals in the 30th and 52nd minutes to cap off the win.
MEDEIROS DISMISSES GOLDEN EAGLES
SMU downed Southern Miss 3-1 Oct. 22. Senior Kristin Medeiros got the Mustangs on the board with her goal in the 27th minute. Less than two minutes later, freshman Amanda Burgardt gave SMU the lead when her shot from point blank found the back of the net. Sophomore Allegra Nigh added insurance in the 67th minute with her first goal of the season. Medeiros assisted on SMU's final two goals to complete a four-point night. With the win, SMU clinched a berth in the conference tournament.
TIGERS DROP MUSTANGS
SMU fell to Memphis 3-0 Oct. 17 at Westcott Field. Memphis opened the scoring with a header just 4:53 in to the game. The Tigers added insurance with a goal just over two minutes in to the second half and another in the 83rd minute to secure the win for Memphis.
SHE SHOOTS, SHE SCORES!
Junior defender Kaitlyn Eidson has taken just eight shots on the season, six of which have been on frame. Five of her six shots on goal have found the back of the net, as she leads the team in goals (5) and game-winning goals (3).
SMU UPENDS UAB
SMU picked up its fifth consecutive win with a 3-1 victory over UAB Friday night at Westcott Field. Eidson scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the seventh minute when she finished a deflection off of a UAB defender to put the Mustangs up 1-0. Medeiros tallied her second goal of the season when she headed in a cross from sophomore Ryanne Lewis in the 33rd minute. In the 44th minute, Lewis added insurance for the Mustangs by finishing a cross from just outside of the goal box. UAB's lone goal came when Tiffini Turpin finished a breakaway in the 90th minute.
NEXT GAME
The Mustangs head Orlando to compete in the Conference USA Tournament. The tournament will take place Nov. 3-7.
