NEW DIGS CHAMPION
SMU outside hitter Kathryn Wilkerson surpassed Beth Karasek to become the Mustangs' all-time leader in digs. The senior has accumulated 1,440 digs for her career while averaging 3.29 per set during her time on the Hilltop.
SUPER SIDNEY
Sidney Stewart earned Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week for her performances this past weekend. The junior libero averaged a league-best 6.88 digs per set during the period. Playing in her native Houston, Stewart tallied 34 digs, which is the fourth highest single match total in C-USA this season. The honor marked Stewart's third designation this season.
CAN YOU DIG IT?
Not only does SMU have the only pair of active 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs leaders in junior OH Dana Powell and senior OH Kathryn Wilkerson, but the Mustangs also have the only duo in the league that ranks among Conference USA's all-time Top 20 in career digs.
Junior Sidney Stewart broke into the all-time list last weekend when the Houston native tallied a C-USA weekly-best 55 digs to boast her career figure to 1,423. The libero now ranks 20th on the all-time digs chart. Powell and Wilkerson are also on the verge of breaking into the Top 20 in career kills.
