DALLAS (AP) -Robert Nyakundi scored a career-high 24 points and Papa Dia added 24 points and 10 rebounds as Southern Methodist held off Central Arkansas 76-72 Sunday.

Justin Haynes added 12 points for the Mustangs (4-3), who have won four of their last five games.

Dewan Clayborn scored 15 points to lead the Bears (2-3) and Mike Pouncy added 12.

There were 13 ties and 13 lead changes in the game, including three of each in the final 5 minutes. Dia hit two free throws with 2:07 to play to give SMU a 71-70 lead and the Mustangs led the rest of the way.

SMU, which shot 54 percent, led by as many as seven in the first half and went into halftime up 37-32.

Central Arkansas shot 48.3 percent.

TEAM

-SMU has now won four of its last five games

-SMU had two 20 point scorers (Dia, Nyakundi) for the first time since 11/21/2010 when Papa Dia and Robert Nyakundi both reached that plateau against Lamar.

-SMU's 54.0% shooting is their second-highest of the year, only lower than the 72.3% against Lamar on 11/21 which set the school record of FG% in a game.

INDIVIDUAL

Papa Dia

-Posted his second double-double of the season -This is his third 20+ point outing of the season and eighth of his career.

-This is his 6th straight double digit scoring effort and the 46th double-digit scoring outing of his career -Grabbed 10+ rebounds for the third time this season and 19th time in his career.

-Moved past Eric Castro (634) into 15th place all-time at SMU in career rebounds. He has 636 for his career.

-Tied his career high with five assists, which he set in SMU's last game against Wayland Baptist on 11/24.

-His five offensive rebounds are a season-high

Justin Haynes

-Reached double figures in scoring for the third time this season and 10th time in his career.

Robert Nyakundi

-Scored a career-high 24 points, besting his previous high of 23 set against Lamar on 11/21 -This is his third 20+ point scoring effort of his career. He now has scored 15+ in three straight games. He has nine 15+ scoring games in his career and 22 double-digit scoring games in his career.
