DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team won its third straight match Saturday, defeating Cameron 7-0, to move to 6-3 on the season. Pablo Perez-Espanaola improved to a team-best 7-1 on the year in singles play, winning his match 6-2, 6-4.
Artem Baradach and Chris Hooshyar had the most convincing win for the Mustangs on the day, winning their match 8-0, to give SMU the doubles point. Darren Walsh and Adham el-Effendi also won their match, 8-2.
"I thought we played very well," SMU head coach Carl Neufeld said. "We had great effort and energy, and really kept our focus for the whole match. It was certainly exciting to see."
SMU will next be on the court on Feb. 26 at 3 p.m., when the team takes on Baylor in Waco. The match is a makeup after the previous meeting this season on Feb. 3 was postponed due to weather conditions. Full results of the match will be available at the conclusion of play on smumustangs.com.
