SMU-Lamar Results 
DALLAS (SMU) - SMU used two three-set match victories and Darren Walsh won his sixth straight singles match, as the Mustangs beat Lamar 7-0, Sunday at Turpin Tennis Center. With the win, SMU improved to 10-9 on the year.
Walsh, playing what head coach Carl Neufeld called his "best tennis of the year", beat Denis Ernilov 6-2, 6-1. He also teamed with Adham el-Effendi as the No. 29 doubles team in the country beat the team of Ernilov and Robert Lee 8-6.
No. 57 in the nation, Artem Baradach struggled early in his match against Richard Filkuka before rallying to win 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. Chris Hooshyar, recently inserted at the No. 4 singles spot, also had a three-set win, beating Marton Horvath, 6-2, 6-7, 10-7.
"It was a hard fought match," Neufeld said. "I'm really excited by our doubles play and we were able to prevail in the tough singles matches."
SMU improved to 3-1 on its current 11-match homestand, and will return to action on April 3 at 1 p.m. against Notre Dame.
