SMU-TCU Box Score

DALLAS (SMU) - Picking up right where it left off three weeks ago, the SMU men's tennis team beat No. 63 TCU 4-3, in the resumption of a match that was suspended earlier this season. The win was the second straight for the Mustangs over a ranked ITA team.

SMU began the day up 2-0 after winning the doubles point the first time the two teams met, and picking up a default victory at No.5 when TCU's Christopher Price had to withdraw due to injury. The Mustangs continued the momentum as Darren Walsh and David Costa each won in straight sets.

Walsh, who won his ninth singles match in a row, beat Marius Cirstea 6-4, 6-3. Costa, battled back from a 4-3 deficit in the second set, to win 6-4. He had already won the first set 6-2.

SMU will close the regular season on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Rice. The match concludes a nine-match homestand, which has seen the Mustangs go 6-2 to this point.
