DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's soccer team defeated Seattle 3-0 Monday afternoon at Westcott Field to close out the SMU Classic. Scoring was a freshman affair as Juan Castillo, Ben Hill and Chris Sendejas all tallied goals for the Mustangs.

"It's been outstanding," said head coach Tim McClements of the play of the team's freshmen over the first week of the season. "Overall, it's been a great start for them. They're logging minutes and giving us results; goals and assists."

Castillo got the Mustangs on the board in the 14th minute when he took a shot from eight yards out, sending the ball far post. The goal was Castillo's second of the season and his first game-winner.

Hill, a red-shirt freshman, scored on a header from one yard out in the 44th minute. It was the first goal of his collegiate career.

Sendejas netted his goal in the 78th minute when he buried a shot from three yards out after collecting a rebound on a corner kick. Sendejas also collected an assist on Hill's goal. The points are his first as a Mustang.

Seattle's best scoring chance came in the 85th minute when Sean Morris fired a bullet from the top of the box on a free kick. Goalkeeper Craig Hill made a diving save to preserve the shutout for the Mustangs.

Although SMU and Tulsa both went 2-0-0 and had the same goal differential (+5) in the SMU Classic, Tulsa won the tournament because they scored seven goals to SMU's six.
