Results vs. Oklahoma State 
STILLWATER, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU equestrian team was defeated by Oklahoma State, 9-1, at Animal Science Arena on Saturday morning. The Mustangs are now 2-1 on the season.
"We rode really well today," head coach Haley Schoolfield said. "We had a lot of positive things happen. This was a great opportunity for our team to see what it is like to ride against a top opponent at their house. We are going to be hard at work preparing for our tough road trip to Delaware and Connecticut in a few weeks."
Over fences, sophomore Lauren Hogan edged her opponent 68-67 to earn a point for SMU. Oklahoma State won equitation over fences, 4-1, and had a 383-370 advantage in the raw score.
The Cowgirls went 5-0 on the flat with a raw score of 395 to SMU's 333.
Oklahoma State finished the 2010-11 season ranked No. 4 in the country.
SMU gets set for a three-match road trip beginning at Delaware State on Oct. 21. The Mustangs will also compete against New Mexico State in Dover, Del., on Oct. 22 and at Sacred Heart on Oct. 23.
