Results vs. Baylor

WACO, Texas (SMU) - The No. 10 SMU equestrian team was defeated, 9-3, by No. 5 Baylor at the Willis Family Equestrian Center on Saturday. With the loss, SMU is now 5-4 on the season.
"We saw a lot of improvement from our young team today," head coach Haley Schoolfield said. "We have some things to correct before next semester, and we will be working hard on that over the next few months. Coach Burton and I are very pleased with the team's progress this year."
Over fences, the Mustangs fell 4-2 against the Bears. Freshman Emma Roberts continued her strong season with an 83-73 win. She is undefeated over fences and holds an 8-1 overall mark this year. All-American Jordyn Pettersen also earned a point over fences with her 80-73 victory.
Baylor went 5-1 on the flat. Freshman Courtney Line earned the Mustangs' tally, edging her opponent 76-75.
The meet was SMU's final contest of the fall season. The Mustangs will resume competition on Feb. 3 against No. 2 Texas A&M at BuckBranch Farm.
