Hello, my name is Shelby Redman, and I play soccer for SMU. I have lived in many different places in the United States (though my mom is in Germany now), but my roots stem from Kingston, Jamaica. In my youth career, I played for The Dallas Texans `92 team and with many great successes, I found myself in a privileged opportunity to play for the Mustangs.
This past week we only had one game against Prairie View A&M, which was a must win for us, especially going into conference soon after. The week leading up to the game, practice was intense. The coaching staff created an environment to bring out our mental toughness and that competitive edge needed to thrive in achieving our team goals for the rest of the year. After a tough week of practice, everything went according to plan in the game against Prairie View A&M. Our forwards scored four quality goals, leaving us hungry for more! This leads us to where we are as a team right now.
Currently, we are pumped for conference games to start! This Friday night (9/23) at 7 p.m., we play against University of Central Florida, which promises to be an exciting game for all of you who decide to come watch! It just so happens my mom, Annette Redman, will be in attendance as she makes her way across the Big Blue, just to watch the spectacle!...and comply with other business endeavors, of course.
So come out and support your Mustangs this Friday against UCF! You won't want to miss it! PONY UP!!!!!!!!!
