DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team won its 15th match of the season after sweeping Marquette, 4-0, inside Turpin Stadium.

The Mustangs claimed all three matches in doubles play to take a 1-0 lead. Junior Hunter and Yates Johnson earned the first victory for SMU, winning 6-1. The duo of senior Nate Lammons and junior Arkadijs Slobodkins picked up the second doubles win, 6-4, earning SMU the doubles point. Junior Markus Kerner and sophomore Samm Butler won their sixth doubles match as a pair after a 6-4 win.

"We continue to play really well, against Marquette who fought three highly contested matches that were still in play," said Head Coach Carl Neufeld. "I was very impressed with their team, more impressed by our guys as we continue our solid play in doubles and bouncing back from a quick turnaround, playing late last night."

Sophomore Ronald Slobodchikov started fast for the Mustangs defeating Kristiyan Trukov in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Lammons upped SMU's lead to 3-0 after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Daniel Fernandez. Butler claimed the match for the Mustangs after taking down Nick Dykema, 7-5, 6-2.

SMU will travel to No. 6 Oklahoma State on Saturday. Doubles play is set to begin at noon CT.
