EDMOND, Okla. (SMU) – The SMU men's golf team is in 10th place after day one of The Maxwell following a 36-over-par 596 (299-297) Friday at the Oak Tree Country Club.

Freshman Jackson Markham finished the day tied for 30th after leading the Mustangs with a two-round 146 (+7, 73-74).

Andrew Buchanan and Daniel Connolly both carded 9-over-par 149s on day one to finish tied for 42nd. Buchanan posted a 74 and 75 on the day, while Connolly followed a first round 77, with a 72 in the afternoon.

Alex Higgs is tied for 50th (75-76—151) and Gray Townsend is tied for 70th (79-77—156).
