DALLAS (SMU) –The SMU track and field team continues its season with trips to the Texas Tech Raider Invitational on Friday and the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Texas Tech Raider Invitational will mark the first time the team has competed in Lubbock since 2013. The Mustangs last competed in Nashville in 2017 at the Music City Challenge, a meet which they will return to on Feb. 9.

At the Texas Tech Raider Invitational, SMU will compete against McMurry, Miami, Oral Robers, Rutgers, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas Tech, Texas Southern and UTSA. Field events are slated to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday with the weight throw, and track events kick off at 11 a.m. with 60m prelims.

Five of SMU's distance runners will face off against 21 other schools at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Running events are set to begin on Friday at 7 p.m and continue on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Following the Texas Tech Raider Invitational and the Vanderbilt Invitational, the Mustangs will head to the Houston Invitational on Jan. 26-27 at the Yeoman Fieldhouse.
