FINAL RESULTS
Dallas (SMU) – The SMU men's golf team fired a seven-under (277) today to tally a 27-under (825) after three day of competition at the Trinity Forest Invitational, placing second overall. Sophomore
Mac Meissner carded a two-under today, 10-under overall, to close play tied for third with a score of 203.
Meissner's finish is the best of his career, his previous best being a tie for 5
th. The sophomore also collected the second most birdies of any golfer in the field with 17. He also added 30 total pars.
Freshman
Ben Wong also posted the best finish of his career after a 6
th place finish, nine-under (204) total. His third round score of 65 (six-under) is tied for the fifth lowest round in program history. Wong holed seven birdies today, four of them coming on the front nine, and he only had one blemish on his scorecard.
Sophomore
Noah Goodwin shot a two-over (73) today to finish seven-over (206) over the 54-holes of play, finishing tied for 7
th, the second best finish of his career.
Freshman
Ollie Osborne and junior
Jackson Markham made up the rest of the SMU scorecard, tying for 32
nd and 41
st, individually. Osborne registered a one-under (70) today, his best round of the tournament, to end one-over (214). Markham's two-over (73) brought him to two-over (215) total.
Tyson Dinsmore, tying for 41
st, was the Ponies highest placing individual. He was followed by
Daniel Connolly and
Justin Thompson tying for 56
th,
Henrik Olsson tying for 61
st and
Piran Adi tying for 75
th. Four out of the five Mustang individuals either tied or posted their best round of the tournament during the final round.
SMU will be back in action Oct. 6-8 at the North Texas hosted Westheimer Invitational at the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas.
