SMU Senior Associate Athletics Director
Kyle Conder has been selected as the Chair of the NCAA Rowing Championship Committee, the organization announced recently. He replaces Jeff Smith, who is a Senior Associate Athletics Director at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The sport administrator for rowing at SMU, Conder was instrumental in hiring current head coach
Kim Cupini. After a decade of success at San Diego, which included four conference championships, Cupini took over the program at SMU in 2017. In her first season, she directed the SMU varsity 4-plus to a gold medal at the American Athletic Conference Championships. It was the first conference title in program history.
Conder has served on the rowing championship committee since 2016. He is also the Chair of the American Athletic Conference Rowing Championship Committee, which he has served on since 2015. During his time at SMU, he has been a member of the AAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee and Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship Committee, serving as Chair in 2014. At the national level, he is on the National Association for Athletics Compliance Advancement Committee.
