AAC PLAY CONTINUES
No. 3/4 SMU continues conference play on Friday night when it plays host to Memphis (8-3-0) at Westcott Field. SMU sits at the top of the AAC table, in a tie with UCF, as both teams have seven points. The Mustangs have outscored AAC opponents 11-4 through three matches of conference play.
POW6RFUL MINDSÂ
The Mustangs will recognize the AAC's Pow6rful Minds campaign on Friday night and fans are encouraged to wear green to raise awareness for mental health. The American Athletic Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), representing the more than 7,000 student-athletes in the Conference, once again has made mental health and safety its top priority. All 13 American institutions will kick off the Conference's Pow6rful Minds Campaign for 2019-20 with Mental Health Awareness Week, as part of an important initiative to improve awareness of mental health issues and resources available to student-athletes with the goal of ending the stigma related to seeking help and promoting success through a healthy, powerful mind.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mustangs scored two first-half goals and another in the second half to dispatch USF 3-0 on Sunday night in Tampa. Gabriel Costa added another goal to his season tally in the win and now has 12 points in the last four matches. The win marked the program's first ever win in Tampa and 10th win of the season.
HISTORIC START
The Mustangs are undefeated in their first 11 matches for just third time in program history. Only the 2001 and 1979 teams started hotter. Their nine straight wins to start the year were the most for any AAC team in league history. SMU is undefeated in their last 10 AAC games dating back to last season.Â

SMU is ranked No. 3 in the country by United Soccer Coaches for the second straight week (10/15). In the initial RPI rankings by the NCAA the Mustangs landed at No. 6. The Mustangs were ranked No. 4 by Top Drawer Soccer (10/14) and No. 2 by College Soccer News (10/14). The Mustangs No. 3 ranking in the United Soccer poll is tied for the highest ranking of any AAC team in history.Â
HOME PITCH ADVANTAGE
SMU hasn't lost at home since Sept. 14, 2018 and is 25-3-2 in its last 30 home matches, dating back to 2017. SMU fans have poured into Westcott Field this season, averaging 1,519 people at each match, good for 13th most in the country.Â
DOUBLE-DIGIT WINS
With SMU's 3-0 win at USF on Oct. 11 the Mustangs picked up their 10th win of the season, marking the 16th time since 2000 that SMU has won 10+ games in a season. October 11 is the fastest the team has reached the 10-win mark since 2010 when it was hit on Oct. 6.Â
CONQUERING CONFERENCE PLAY
The Mustangs are 2-0-1 in conference play and outscoring opponents 11-4, scoring 3+ goals in every match. SMU is undefeated in its last 10 conference matches dating back to last season. SMU has won at least a share of the regular season AAC title and both postseason tournaments since 2017.Â
FAST START
The Mustangs have passed the 2010 team for the third best start in school history. SMU is one of seven unbeaten teams nationally.  At 10-0-1, the Mustangs are off to the best start in AAC history. The team's best start ever was 21-0-0 in 2001. Current head coach Kevin Hudson started 19 games that year for the Mustangs.
