Herron Selected For CoSIDA Academic All-District First-Team

INDIANAPOLIS (SMU/CoSIDA) – Katharine Herron was voted first-team Academic All-District 7 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Herron, a senior defender, has a near-perfect 3.97 grade point average while majoring in finance. On the field, she started every match during the 2019 campaign and helped the Mustang backline record nine shutouts and a 0.93 goals against average for the year.
In her career, she appeared in 77 matches and made 60 starts with four goals and two assists. She recorded 5,744 minutes in her four years on The Hilltop.
The senior becomes the ninth member in program history to earn a CoSIDA Academic All-District nod.
First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where honorees will be announced in December.
