DALLAS (SMU) – Brittany Rigg was named the recipient of the EDICUT Dean's Award for the Outstanding Preservice Educator of 2018-19. Rigg was selected by the Simmons Educator Preparation faculty, and will be honored at the Simmons Honors Reception April 11 and the University Honors Convocation April 15.

Rigg has been a part of the varsity 8+ crew each of her four seasons on the Hilltop, and currently sits in the seven seat of the 1V8+. She is a team captain this season, and is a three-time Academic All-Conference award winner. She was a member of the bronze medal-winning crew at the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championships after finishing fourth as a sophomore.

The Mustangs are scheduled to compete at the Sunshine State Invite in Sarasota, Fla., April 5-6, before hosting Alabama in the regular-season finale April 27 at White Rock Lake.
