SMU Track & Field travels to the Bobcat Classic over the weekend with the action from San Marcos beginning on Friday and wrapping up on Saturday.

The event kicks off with the Hammer throw on Friday at 1 p.m. one of the four field events on the opening day. The only running event to feature Mustangs on Friday will be the Steeplechase where Anneke Grogan will compete in the Mustangs' first steeplechase of the season. Grogan,the lone Mustang distance runner set to compete over the weekend, participated in the Bobcat Classic earlier in the season, setting a personal record in the 1500.

Day two will begin at 11 a.m. for the field events and 3 p.m. for the track events. A full schedule of events along with heat sheets and live results can all be found at Txstatebobcats.com.

A quartet of Mustang throwers, Daniella Murchison, Kennedy Godsey and Dareth Douglass along with multi-athlete Olivia Witt will participate in the throws events over the weekend. Â Â

Chelsea Francis is set to compete in both the 100 and 200. Francis has the top time in the 100 meter in the conference which she set last weekend at the Bryan Clay Invite earning her Athlete of the Week.

After the Classic, the Mustang will travel to Wichita for the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. SMU has four top marks in the conference this season. Along with Chelsea's top time, Hannah Miller holds the top time in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meter. In her first season on the Hilltop, Nicole Iloanya has the AAC's top triple jump mark.
