PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU) -
Carles Sarrio of men's tennis and
Vivienne Kulicke of women's tennis were selected to the All-Conference Team by the American Athletic Conference, announced by the league office on Thursday.
Sarrio, in his first season on the Hilltop after transferring from Auburn, played line one all season for the Mustangs, compiling a 12-10 record and a 23-15 mark overall. The junior upset the fourth-ranked player in the country early in the season for one of his three ranked wins on the season. Sarrio also had a 12-10 record during dual match doubles play, including a 9-5 mark with his primary partner,
Huntley Allen.
Kulicke competed in her first season as a Mustang after her serving a redshirt season, following her transfer from UTEP. The senior went 25-8 on the season with a 14-5 record in dual match play, including a perfect 5-0 while playing the top line for the Mustangs. Kulicke capped the season with three wins in the conference tournament while playing line one during the Mustangs' run to the semi-finals, the program's fifth straight trip to the semis. In doubles, Kulicke went 8-8 during the spring, including 5-3 with
Liza Buss.
The women's all-conference team is 12 players selected by the league's head coaches, while the Men's team consists of six singles players and three doubles tandems, based on ITA rankings.
