DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's tennis team wrapped up its first event of the spring season at the Metroplex Mania at the SMU Tennis Complex on Sunday.
"We all were encouraged by the weekend and the way our girls are competing," assistant coach
Brigit Folland said. "We are excited to get to work on the practice court for the upcoming competition ahead. Go Stangs!"
The Mustangs competed in doubles early in the day, with
Claudia Bartolome and
Sarai Monarrez Yesaki topping Antonela Stoica and Miruna Tudor of Wisconsin and
Tiffany Hollebeck and
Nicole Petchey falling to Denver's Anna Riedmiller and Alessia Truden.
In singles, SMU faced both North Texas and Denver.
Sarai Monarrez Yesaki and
Isabella Tcherkes Zade won against their Denver opponents while
Tiffany Hollebeck defeated Sophie Hummel of North Texas to close out the day's action.
