SMU track and field competes in the Houston G5 & Super 22 Invite from Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday.

The Mustangs return to Houston for the second time in as many 2020 meets. The Invitational begins for SMU at 2 p.m. on Friday with the long jump. The weekend wraps up on Saturday with the 4x400 at 5:45 p.m.. inaugural edition of the G5/Super 22 Invite will be a team scored meet.

CHELSEA FRANCIS NAMED TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Francis posted the 11th-best time in the NCAA this season in the 60m prelims with a time of 7.30, .05 seconds off her personal record. After qualifying for the finals, the senior won the event, crossing the line with a 7.31 time.The reigning conference champ in the 60m, Francis was named Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career after the performance.

SMU 4x400 TAKE TOP TIME IN HOUSTON
The 4x400 of team of Ashton Woods, Chika Iwuamadi, Chelsea Francis and Annette Bolomboy recorded a top-15 mark in the NCAA this season with a time of 3:44.72, easily winning the meet. The time was the third best mark by an SMU squad. Woods, Iwuamadi and Francis were part of the team last season that ran the fastest SMU time in the event.

FRANCIS AND MILLER TOP CONFERENCE PERFORMANCE LIST
Hannah Miller and Chelsea Francis have both posted conference leading times in 2020. Miller recorded an impressive PR at the Season Opener from Boston University back in December. Miller broke the 23-year old school record in the 5000m with a time of 16:06.14. Her time is 10 seconds faster than the next best posted in the conference this season.
