SMU Men's Tennis faces a pair of ranked teams in a busy three-match weekend at the SMU Tennis Complex. The Mustangs meet up with No. 40 USF at 2 p.m. on Friday before facing a doubleheader on Saturday featuring a morning matchup with Pomona-Pitzer and culminating in a showdown with rival No. 12 TCU at 2 p.m.

The Mustangs are coming off a tough road weekend suffering a pair of losses against two teams currently ranked by the ITA. SMU fell 4-0 in Baton Rouge to LSU before dropping a 6-1 match to Tulane. The Mustangs won the doubles point in the match against the Green Wave who are currently ranked No. 39 in the nation.

Saturday's doubleheader slate includes various promos during the jam-packed Saturday. Hamburger Sliders food truck will be at the Complex serving complimentary sliders to the first 100 fans. The day will also feature the club programs of TCU and SMU facing off in-between the Pomona-Pitzer and TCU matches.

TOUGH SLATE
SMU is in the midst of a seven-game stretch in which they face five teams currently ranked by the ITA. Old Dominion was unranked when they met the Mustangs but are currently No. 50 in the country. SMU nearly pulled off the victory in a tough 4-3 defeat. SMU has also met No. 49 LSU, and No. 39 Tulane.

ABOUT USF
USF is ranked No. 40 in the first expanded edition of the ITA Team Rankings. They hold a 5-2 record on the season with the only losses coming against No. 13 Columbia and No. 2 Florida. The Bulls have wins against Fresno State, FAU, FGCU, Stetson and East Tennessee State. USF went 18-8 last season winning a conference championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls knocked off Alabama in the first round before falling to eventual national champions Texas in the round of 32. Chase Ferguson leads the Bulls on line one with a 5-1 record including one ranked win.

ABOUT TCU
TCU has a 5-4 record and is ranked No. 12 in the country after facing an incredibly challenging early season slate. The Horned Frogs have losses against No. 1 USC, No. 1 North Carolina, Virginia and No. 16 Michigan. Last weekend, TCU topped No. 10 NC State and No. 6 Texas A&M at the ITA Indoors, beating both teams with 4-0 sweeps. The Horned Frogs advanced all the way to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2019 posting a 22-7 record. TCU has three ranked singles players (No. 50 Gray, No. 79 Fomba and No. 117 Fearnley. The doubles duos of Fearnley/Gray is ranked No. 19 while Jong/Paroulek is No. 57.

ABOUT POMONA-PITZER
Pomona-Pitzer travels to Dallas with a 2-1 record on the season. They will also face UT Dallas and Trinity during their trip to DFW. Last season, the Sagehens advanced to the final of the SCIAC Tournament Championship before falling to rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Pomona-Pitzer is currently ranked No. 13 in Division 3.

SERIES HISTORY (USF)
LSU maintains a 6-5 edge in the career history between the two programs. The two teams met for the first time since 2003 last season with the Tigers winning 6-1 at the SMU Tennis Complex. The Tigers and Mustangs met once in the NCAA Tournament round of 16 in 1998 as LSU knocked off the Mustangs before bowing out in the quarterfinals.

SERIES HISTORY (TCU)
TCU holds a 14-22 edge in the series with the Mustangs since 1985. The two teams have met at least once per year for the last four decades. TCU has won the last nine meetings including a 4-0 win last season in Fort Worth.

SERIES HISTORY (USF)
The Mustangs have one win over the Bulls in the seven meeting between the two programs. Last season, the Bulls took down the Mustangs 5-2 at the SMU Tennis Complex. They've met twice at the conference tournament with USF taking both matches.

RANKED WINS
Caleb Chakravarthi and Tomas Vaise defeated the No. 4 ranked doubles paring on line one against Texas. The duo took down Ito/Sigsgaard of Texas 6-4 for the first doubles point of the match. Ethan Leon and Carles Sarrio were up 5-4 on LSU's Thomas/Moreno when the Tigers clinched the doubles point. Chakravarthi and Sarrio took their nationally-ranked opponents to a third set in the road match against Tulane.

SMU TENNIS COMPLEX
The SMU Tennis Complex was awarded the UTSA Most Outstanding Facility Award over the Summer. The complex which features six indoor and six outdoor courts opened in 2015. All SMU home matches are free to attend. The Facility added Playsight Technology to the outdoor courts over the summer and recently announced the addition of Wingfield Technology on Indoor No. 5, the first of its kind in the United States.
