DALLAS (SMU) - SMU men's tennis topped both Southeastern Oklahoma State and UT Tyler in a Friday doubleheader at the SMU Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs started the day with a 7-0 sweep of Southeastern Oklahoma State in the morning match. SMU dropped just one set to the Savage Storm during the contest. After a convincing doubles win,
Caleb Chakravarthi cruised, 6-3, 6-4 on line one,
Liam Krall won 6-4, 6-0 on No. 2 and
Tomas Vaise outlasted Ncube on court 3, 6-3, 7-6 (1).
Juan Jose Bianchi and
Clarke Wilson took down their opponents on court four and five while
Callaway Clark dropped the first set only to rally, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

In match two, the doubles point against UT Tyler provided a great deal of drama for the match. The Mustangs were down a few breaks early before they began to battle back.
Kyle Pham and
Kyle Sillman were the first finishers, up 6-3 on court three. The Patriots answered with a 6-3 win on line two. The first-year combo of John ZIsette and
Julian Steinhausen weren't bothered by a missed match point at 6-5. The duo clinched the doubles point in a tiebreaker, 7-5.

The Patriots took the only two points from the Mustangs on the day in the SMU 5-2. win. Zisette fell in a supertiebreaker on No. 3 while
Eddie Ross lost, 6-3, 6-1 on court six. Krall won line one 6-3, 6-2 followed by Steinhausen, 6-0, 6-3 on court two.
Jordi Redelijk and
Huntley Allen were straight set winners on courts four and five.

Across the two wins, 10 different Mustangs won singles matches while 14 Mustangs won in either singles or doubles. SMU moves to 5-4 on the season including 5-1 from the SMU Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs hit the road on Sunday for a 11 a.m. matchup with the 23
rd-ranked Sooners.
