Â
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU men's golf returns to action for its final fall tournament Sunday at the Isleworth Collegiate at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windemere, Florida.
Â
The Mustangs tee off the three-day event on the par 72, 7,544-yard course starting at 8 a.m. ET/7 a.m. CT Sunday.
The 14-team field includes host schools UCF and West Virginia, as well as Golfstat top-25 teams Arizona State (4), Auburn (21) and LSU (23) among others.
SMU lines up with the same five who turned in an 18-stroke victory at the Trinity Forest Invitational last time out. Noah Goodwin, Ollie Osborne, Holden Wisener and Nathan Petronzio have been in every lineup this season, while Ben Wong enters for the third straight event.
Â
Goodwin is coming of a championship performance at the Mustangs' home event. The senior fired all three rounds in the 60s, including a tournament-low 65 in the second round, and finished 15-under and seven strokes ahead of the field.
Â
For the season, Goodwin has a pair of top-10 finishes (T7, Old Town Club Invitational) and seven rounds at par-or-better. He has currently signed for five consecutive rounds in the 60s. Â
Â
In his career, he has 50 rounds at par-or-better, 25 in the 60s and three tournament wins.
Â
Goodwin is currently ranked No. 10 in the PGA Tour University rankings.
Â
Osborne turned in his best finish of the season at Trinity Forest, tying for fifth. The performance includes a season-best 65 in the event's second round to match his career best from a 2019 win at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate.
Â
He adds a pair of rounds in the 60s to his career total, bringing him to 12 in the 60s over four seasons.
Â
Wisener has made an immediate impact in the Mustang lineup in his first year on the Hilltop. He is the only player to have all nine rounds count toward the team score in 2021-22. His low-round 68 on the final 18 of the Trinity Forest Invite propelled him eight spots up the leaderboard to tie for fifth. It was his third round in the 60s this season and fourth at par-or-better.
Â
Petronzio is coming off his best outing of the young season, finishing tied for 41st in Dallas. He shot a 71 in the event's final round to bring his career total to 12 rounds at par-or-better.
Â
Wong has produced six counting scores in six rounds after entering the lineup in North Carolina for the Mustangs' second tournament. He has produced five rounds at par-or-better, four of which have been signed for in the 60s.
