DALLAS – No. 13 SMU men's golf hosts the fourth edition of the Trinity Forest Invitational March 7-9. The Mustangs enter 10 golfers into the 14-team, 54-hole event at their home course, Trinity Forest Golf Club.

The Mustangs, who have finished second in this event each of the past two seasons, are joined by eight other Texas schools in the field and schools from eight different conferences, including the ACC and Big 12. No. 18 North Texas, Abilene Christian, Ball State, Florida Atlantic, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisville, Kansas City, Rice, TCU, Sam Houston, UT Arlington and UTSA round out the field.

SMU, who has finished in the top five in their first two tournaments of the season, sees Mac Meissner, Noah Goodwin, Nathan Petronzio and Ollie Osborne return to the lineup for the third straight tournament. Prescott Butler makes his SMU debut in the starting five.

Mac Meissner is the Mustangs' leader in stroke average through six rounds this season, sitting at 71.83. Meissner has finished in the top-15 in both of his tournaments this season, and nine times in his past 11 tournaments, dating back to the 2019 AAC Championship and including a T4th finish at the 2019-20 Trinity Forest Invitational.

Noah Goodwin has been par-or-better four times in six rounds this season, a big reason why he has posted two top-25 finishes so far. Goodwin was one of four Mustangs to finish in the top-10 of this event last season, tying for seventh at -5.

Nathan Petronzio had a strong start to his freshman campaign, already notching two par-or-better rounds and a top-20 finish at the season-opening Southwestern Invitational. His 2-under 69 at The Prestige is tied for the Mustangs' best round of the young season.

Ollie Osborne comes to the par 71 / 7,330-yard Coore & Crenshaw design with five of his six rounds this season counting toward the team total. Prescott Butler, an Alabama transfer, tied for 27th in his only stroke play appearance as a Mustang so far, at the Individual Spring Kickoff.

Alex Valenzuela, Ben Wong, Dawson Ovard, Justin Thompson and Tyson Dinsmore all compete as individuals. Thompson looks to repeat his success from this event last season, where he posted a career-best solo-2nd finish at -11. Dawson Ovard also finished in the top-10 of last year's event, tying for 9th at -4. Ben Wong is making his third appearance as an individual this season, with Tyson Dinsmore making his second. Alex Valenzuela is set for his SMU debut in the event.
