SMU women's tennis plays a pair of ranked teams over the weekend with a Friday match in Fort Worth against No. 50 TCU and a Sunday home test against No. 49 Tulsa.
Winners of 11 of their last 13 matches, the Mustangs are in the midst of a stretch of five consecutive matches against ranked opponents. Last weekend, the Mustangs knocked off South Florida on the road with a 4-0 sweep for their fifth conference win of the season. SMU lost 4-1 to No. 18 UCF in Orlando on Sunday to move to 5-1 against the American Athletic Conference this season. Â

Hadley Doyle andÂ
Jackie Nylander were ranked No. 46 in the latest ITA doubles ranking. The pairing has a 10-3 record, all at line one including a ranked win in the Mustangs' victory over Tulane.

-Nylander sits at No. 90 in the ITA Singles rankings. She has a 9-6 record on the season while playing solely at line one. Earlier this season, Nylander was named AAC Player of the Week after she posted three line one wins along with a 2-1 doubles record including a ranked victory.

Hadley Doyle leads the Mustang with 15 singles win this season. She has won her last 10 decisions. Doyle was named American Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after she knocked off No. 83 of LSU. She posted two more ranked wins in the Mustangs victory over Tulane and the loss to No. 18 UCF.

Winslow Huth tops all Mustang freshman with seven singles wins on the season. Recently, she has teamed withÂ
Nicole Petchey for a 5-3 record in doubles. Huth has a 4-1 record in conference singles action.

Avery Hilbig made her Mustang singles debut in March and helped the Mustangs during their six-match winning streak. The freshman has posted a 3-1 record in singles.

Chandler Carter paired up midseason as the Mustangs No. 2 doubles pairing. The duo have a 5-1 record, tied second on the team in wins.

Claudia Bartolome is tied for fourth on the team with nine singles wins this season with victories at each of the top five lines.
 -SMU has posted a 12-6 record at line one singles and a 31-11 mark at the top two lines. In doubles, the Mustangs have a 13-7 record at line one.

 - All eight Mustang losses are against teams currently ranked in the ITA top-33, No. 2 Texas, No. 9 Baylor, No. 14 LSU, No. 16 UCF No. 17 Texas A&M, No. 24 Arkansas, No. 30 Texas Tech,  No. 33 Oklahoma.

ABOUT TCU
The Horned Frogs are ranked No. 50 in the country with a 9-8 record on the season. Their best stretch of the season came on a roadtrip to Kansas as TCU knocked off No. 45 Kansas and No. 43 Kansas State. The team has a 3-4 record in Big 12 play and a 7-3 record on their home courts. Three Horned Frogs are nationally ranked in singles, No. 60 Alisa Soloveva, No. 82 Mercedes Aristegui and No. 103 Marie Norris.
ABOUT TULSA
Tulsa has a 9-4 record on the season and entered the ITA rankings for the first time this season with a No. 49 position. The Golden Hurricane have won three matches in a row including a ranked win over No. 32 Texas Tech. Tulsa fifth-year senior and All-American Martina Okalova is ranked No. 98 in the country and has a 9-2 record on the season. Okalova and her doubles partner Vera Ploner are the highest ranked doubles tandem in the conference at No. 26. The pairing have an 11-1 record together.

ITA REGION ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Jackie Nylander was named the 2020 Texas Region Rookie of the Year by the ITA. Nylander was a key contributor to SMU's shortened 9-5 season, playing on court one in both singles and doubles, winning three ranked matchups. She was also named SMU Female Newcomer of the Year. Nylander was the first Mustang to earn the ITA honor.Â
NCAA APR Award
SMU Women's Tennis earned a Public Recognition Award for its latest multi-year NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rates (APR). The program earned the award for scoring in the top 10 percent nationally for its sport through the 2018-19 academic year (data from 2015-16 through 2018-19). The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation, and provides a measure of each team's academic performance. SMU has 16 APR Public Recognition Awards since the 2004-05 academic year.
