DALLAS (SMU) – Six Mustangs from the SMU swimming and diving program were recognized at the SMU Honors Convocation that took place Monday night.
The Honors Convocation celebrates the academic excellence achieved by SMU undergraduate students. This ceremony recognizes new honor society inductees, national fellowships, various distinguished scholarships and internships, school and departmental awards, and graduating University Honors Program students.
Jack Easton was inducted into a pair of Honor Societies by the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering. He joined Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu, which recognizes excellence in the electrical and computer engineering disciplines. The Lyle School of Engineering also recognized
Matan Segal with the Departmental Award in Computer Engineering.
Connor Gamble and
Lauren Thompson were inducted into Alpha Chi, a national college honor society that admits students from all academic disciplines. To be invited to membership in the Texas Alpha Omega chapter, a student must have at least junior standing and a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher.
Annabelle Corcoran earned the Betty Janette Maynard Scholarship and Award in Women's and Gender Studies from the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, while
Madison Kinsey was awarded with the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development's Applied Physiology and Health Management Departmental Distinction Award.
