DALLAS (SMU) - SMU men's tennis wrapped up the regular season with a 7-0 sweep of Trinity on Sunday afternoon at the SMU Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs conclude the regular season with a 17-13 record including a 14-4 mark at the SMU Tennis Complex.
Doubles play started with a strong Mustang win.
Liam Krall and
Tomas Vaise combined for a 6-3 victory on line one while
Huntley Allen and
Clarke Wilson won, 6-2 on line three. The Mustangs have won at least one doubles court in 26 consecutive matches.
Four Mustangs cruised to straight set singles wins.
Julian Steinhausen won his 14
th match of the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court five. Vaise won on line one with a pair of 6-1 sets. Wilson ended his regular season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory on line four. Krall won his team-high 15
th match of the season after a 6-3, 7-5 score on line two.
Jordi Redelijk split the first two sets on line six before winning 10-2 in the super tiebreaker. In his SMU Tennis Complex finale,
Jan-Simon Vrbsky rallied from a first set defeat to win set two and win a super tiebreaker 10-6.
Next up, the Mustangs head to Orlando for the American Athletic Conference Tennis Championships. The quarterfinals are set for Thursday from the USTA National Campus.
