WICHITA, Kan. (SMU) – The Mustangs dropped a neutral site match against No. 28 Pepperdine, 4-0, on Saturday at the Coleman Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs were in an early hole with a 2-1 loss in doubles.
Caleb Chakravarthi and
Tomas Vaise won a ranked matchup on line one, defeating No. 62 Oetzbach / Ouden, 6-3 for their first ranked win as a partnership this season. The Mustangs have won at least one doubles court in each of their last 22 matches.

Juan Jose Bianchi lost 6-3 on the court three.
The Waves won three singles matches to clinch the 4-0 win. The Mustangs had were leading by a set on all three unfinished courts.
Jonge defeated Vaise, 6-1, 6-2 on court two, Summaria defeated Allen, 6-1, 6-0, on line six and Ouden won over Krall, 6-1, 6-2, on line two.
Chakaravarthi matched up with No. 52 Oetzbach on line one and won his first set, 6-3 with the third set just underway at the time of clinch.
Clarke Wilson took set one against Zeitvogel on line four, 6-4, and was leading 2-1 when the match ended. Vrbsky was up a set, 6-2, 2-0, over Fellin at the time of clinch.
Pepperdine improves to 9-4 on the season with its third win over a ranked opponent this season. The Mustangs move to 13-13 on the season.
Next up, the Mustangs head down to Houston looking to retain the Turpin Cup in a match with Rice next Saturday at noon.
