DALLAS – Coming off two 7-0 victories over Prairie View, SMU men's tennis will be facing off with Purdue this Saturday. Action gets underway at 1:00 p.m. CT at Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
SMU is 1-1 all-time vs. Purdue, having played against them at neutral sites in 2017 and 2018.
Saturday will likely be captain Caleb Chakravarthi's first time on the court this spring, as he did not participate on Thursday versus Priarie View. Chakravarthi competed in four Fall ITA tournaments this fall, winning singles and doubles titles at the Islander Invite in Corpus Christi.
Sophomore Julian Steinhausen and senior Huntley Allen are also expected to make their first appearances of the season, having been healthy scratches on Thursday.
ABOUT PURDUE
The Boilermakers will be competing Saturday for the first time this spring. They are led by Athell Bennet, the ITA Most Improved Senior from 2020. Their four freshmen combined for 25 wins this fall, led by Rohan Sachdev with a team high of 10.
