College Station, Texas – The SMU men's swimming and diving team fell to No. 23 Texas A&M this evening in College Station.
Colin Feehery highlighted the contest for the Mustangs, taking first place in two different events.
SMU got the evening started with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of
Cole Bruns,
Joe Rusnock,
Riley Hill, and
Justin Baker came in at 1:30.19.
Russel Exum added another runner-up finish for the Mustangs in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:27.26.
Kolos Nagy swam a career best of 9:54.52 in the race.
Feehery won his first event of the night in the 200 freestyle at 1:39.21. He added a runner-up finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.34) and another victory in the 200 IM at 1:49.54.
Baker nearly took another first-place finish home for SMU in the 50 freestyle, touching 0.02 seconds after A&M's Seth Reno and clocking a 20.63.
The Mustangs put together a strong showing in the 100 butterfly, as
Tyler Mansheim and
Russell Exum finished second and third, respectively (49.28, 49.40).
Parker Hardigree and
Peter Smithson led the way for SMU in diving. The two collectively scored seven points for the Mustangs, all coming from 1 meter (325.65, 306.15).
Bruns, Baker,
Lance Butler, and
Charlie Kaye finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:21.94.
