OPENING TIP
   With a SMU win against North Texas, the Mustangs will match their longest winning streak since the 2013-14 campaign when they won seven straight. It would match the mark set through the first 10 games since the 2013-14 season at 8-2.
 
GOLD IN CALIFORNIA
   SMU won the second Raising the B.A.R Invitational, hosted by Cal Dec. 3-4 in Berkeley, Calif. The Mustangs defeated Gardner-Webb 84-71, in the opener before capping off the weekend with a 70-56 victory over Cal. Jasmine Smith earned MVP honors, while Savannah Wilkinson and Tamia Jones joined her on the all-tournament team. Arkansas-Pine Bluff dropped an 84-51 result against the Golden Bears Saturday and finished 0-2 with an 81-71 setback against the Runnin' Bulldogs Sunday.
  
INSIDE THE STREAK
   During the six-game winning streak, SMU has outscored its opponents by 17.7 points and is averaging 9.7 more rebounds per game. The Mustangs hit 49.7% from the field, while holding their foes to 35.5%. The opposition makes one more three than SMU despite taking nearly eight more per contest. Defensively, the Mustangs hold an 8.7-7.8 edge in steals and block one more shot per contest.
 
LAST TIME OUT
    SMU defeated California at Haas Pavilion and won the Raising the B.A.R Invitational Sunday. The Mustangs won their six straight, the longest win streak in nine seasons. The last Mustangs last defeated a Pac-12 team Dec. 19, 2015, a 56-48 victory over Arizona at the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan.
   Jasmine Smith earned Most Valuable Player honors. Savannah Wilkinson and Tamia Jones joined Smith on the all-tournament team. Jones led the Mustangs with a career-high 17 points. Smith and Wilkinson tallied 17 each, while Chantae Embry netted 13.
   Facing their largest deficit of the tournament at 42-37, the Mustangs erased the gap with five points on one trip down the floor, part of a 33-14 run over the final 16:12 of the contest.

   The Mustangs have held eight of their nine opponents below their season average scoring output. The lone loss when holding a team below 60 points occurred at Baylor, a 3-point setback. SMU held five of its seven opponents to their lowest scoring output of the season through Nov. 30.
