Conference Leaders
Colin Feehery,
Dominic Hoefer, Jack Easton, and Tyler Coffey swept the fall American Athletic Conference Weekly honors for the Mustangs.
Easton was a force for SMU during the SMU Invitational on Nov. 18-20 in Dallas, taking home two individual wins along with a facility and program record.
Feehery helped lead Mustang swimmers in a 2-1 dual-meet weekend, winning four individual events and posting three NCAA B cuts.
On the diving side, Hoefer registered an event win, two runner-up performances and came in above the NCAA Zone qualifying mark in all four events competed on the weekend.
Coffey enjoyed a podium showing in a pair of events during the SMU Invitational.
SMU now totals 64 individual championships through nine seasons in The American. Twenty-two of those championships come from diving. They have also won 16 relay championships, six of which have been medleys (200 3x, 400 3x).
All-American Returners
Six members of the SMU men's swimming and diving program earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors for their work in the pool and in the classroom following the 2020-21 season. The list includes current Mustangs
Parker Hardigree,
Connor Dalbo,
Jack Easton,
Dominic Hoefer and
Brayden Rudd.
To be selected as a member of the CSCAA Scholar All-America first team as an individual, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets.
Holt Hickman Outdoor Pool Is Coming To The Hilltop
With a $2.5M gift from the Hickman family, SMU will soon break ground for a new eight-lane, 50-meter by 25-yard outdoor pool, with 1- and 3-meter diving boards. The $11M project will also include a 20-foot by 40-foot instructional pool that will be used for lessons and rehab/therapy. The addition of the outdoor pool will complete the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center, making SMU the only University in the country with both indoor and outdoor Olympic pools in one facility, further cementing SMU's swimming and diving facility as one of the finest in college athletics.
