DALLAS (SMU) – On Sunday, the No. 43 SMU women's tennis team defeated TCU 4-1 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex, earning the largest winning margin against the Horned Frogs in program history.

ITA national doubles rankings, defeated Aleksa Cveticanin/Alisa Soloveva for their fifth consecutive win, improving to a team-best 8-1 through dual play. Jakeway/Huth's win over TCU's Jade Otway/Stevie Kennedy marked the duo's second match together of the dual season, and second win.
In singles, Nylander defeated Cveticanin 6-2, 6-4, completing a perfect weekend for the junior following wins in doubles and singles against No. 19 UCF on Friday. The win marks Nylander's eighth of the dual season.
Graduate senior
Claudia Bartolome earned her eighth win of the spring, and the 71
st win of her career in a straight-set, 6-3, 6-3 win against TCU's Jade Otway, to push the Mustangs lead to 3-1.
With the clinch on the line, Petchey, after taking the first set on court six 6-3, traded game wins through her second set against Stevie Kennedy. Up 6-5 with the match tied at 40-all, Petchey won a minute-long rally, taking advantage of Kennedy's position and placing the ball just beyond reach to Kennedy's back, claiming the set 7-5 and clinching the team win for the Mustangs.
 "Today was a great bounce back from a very tough match on Friday night," said head coach
Jeff Nevolo. "The team responded really well, and gave a great effort today.
"It was also very special getting to celebrate our amazing senior class," Nevolo said. "To have Katherine, Nicole and Claudia all win matches, and have Lexi in a tough contest at the one position was awesome. We are so grateful for their investment in our program."
The win marks the first time SMU has defeated TCU in back-to-back matches since the 2011 season. In their last meeting on April 2, 2021, the Mustangs downed the No. 50 Horned Frogs 4-3 in Fort Worth off a doubles point, and singles wins from Petchey, Bartolome, and then-freshman
Winslow Huth.
SMU (12-8) opens the final weekend of its dual regular season schedule on Saturday, April 16
th, as they host Rice at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex at 3 p.m.
