DALLAS (SMU) – No. 16 SMU rowing heads west to Henderson, Nev. this weekend to take part for the first time in the 5th annual PAC-12 Invitational on Lake Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday.
 
SMU will compete in the first varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four. Racing is slated to run from 10 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. Complete event schedules and heat sheets are available here.
 
The PAC-12 Invite features 11 other teams, all of which are ranked or receiving votes in the Pocock CRCA National Poll. The field consists of No. 3 University of California, Berkeley, No. 4 Stanford University, No. 8 University of Washington, No. 12 University of Southern California, No. 15 University of Pennsylvania, No. 18 Oregon State University, No. 19 University of Alabama, (RV) Washington State University, (RV) University of California, Los Angeles, (RV) University of Iowa and (RV) Clemson University.
 
All races will be streamed on Facebook Live by host Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club. Results will be posted on the club's Facebook and Twitter pages after each event concludes.
 
The event is SMU's penultimate regular season race of the season. The Mustangs next head to Austin for the Longhorn Invitational from April 29-30 before traveling to Oak Ridge, Tenn. for the American Athletic Conference Championship, defending their title on May 15.
