DALLAS- SMU men's tennis opened the season with a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Prairie View AA&M at the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis complex on Thursday. The Mustangs have now won seven straight home matches.

Seven returning Mustangs competed today as well as the three new add ons- Jack Winkler, Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo and Blaine Hovenier. Today marked Hoveniers first collegiate dual match as he finished with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Jaydn Boone and a 6-0 victory with partner Callaway Clark over Caleb Eaton and Michael Sample.

The Mustangs went 22-7 last season, winning the American Athletics Conference Championship and earning a NCAA bid.

The Mustangs are back in action January 14 against Denver at the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis Complex.
