RICHMOND, Va. (SMU) – Callaway Clark and Alex Stafford went undefeated in doubles play at the River City Open at the Westhampton Tennis Complex.

"This weekend was a productive tournament," said Head Coach Grant Chen. "Our players continued to improve as the weekend went on. We showed good progress and were able to highlight some areas to focus on this week. We want to thank Richmond for putting on a great college event."

The Mustangs' duo teamed up for three total wins, defeating William & Mary's Oliver Hague and Sean Joseph (6-4) on Friday and two Longwood duos (6-4, 6-4) on Saturday.
Both Clark and Stafford also picked up two singles victories on the weekend. Clark won over James Madison's Aathreya Manesh (7-5, 6-7(5), 10-4) and Navy's Steve Nguyen (6-4, 6-4), with Stafford defeating Longwood's Petar Belosevic (1-6, 6-1, 10-6) and Navy's Aaron Gu (6-1, 6-1).

Alex Yang earned his first two singles victories of the fall versus Longwood's Alejandro Uribe (6-3, 6-2) and James Madison's Edson Sanchez (6-3, 6-4) in his SMU debut.

Liam Sunkel also made his first appearance for the Mustangs, joining Yang in doubles against William & Mary and competing in singles all three days.
