Day Four Results

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU men's swimming and diving team extended its lead in the American Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday. Two Mustangs brought home gold medals in individual events and SMU's 200 freestyle relay set a new meet record.

Colin Feehery set the AAC record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:43.87, marking his second consecutive conference title in the event. Cotton Fields was the runner-up after clocking in at 1:44.71. Both Mustangs earned an NCAA B Standard.

Lance Butler and Justin Baker posted NCAA Zone Standards in a 1, 2 finish in the 50 freestyle. Butler was crowned the conference champion in the event after tying a career-best time of 19.54. Butler moved to second all-time later in the night after swimming a 19.48 on his lead off split in the 200 freestyle relay. Baker finished second in the event after touching the wall at 19.66.

Sage Sungail became SMU's sixth all-time fastest performer in the 500 freestyle with a career-best 4:21.13. Sungail was the runner-up in the event and earned an NCAA B Standard.

Lance Butler, Justin Baker, Cole Bruns and Charlie Kaye represented the Mustangs in the 200 freestyle relay, posting a new meet record with a time of 1:17.51. The group won SMU's third straight conference title in the event and earned an NCAA Provisional Standard.
