DAY SIX RESULTS
ATLANTA (SMU) – SMU Men's Swimming and Diving finished its sixth day of competition at the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday at the McAuley Aquatic Center, highlighted by two Mustangs making finals appearances.
Through the sixth day of competition, the Mustangs currently rank tenth with a team score of 326.
Notable Results
200 Fly
In a preliminary heat, Nico Sobenes recorded a time of 1:45.15 in the 200 fly, tying for 25th overall.
100 Back
Junior Jack Berube swam a 45.82 in a preliminary heat for the 100 back, earning himself a spot in the B finals. The Texas native posted a time of 47.98 to finish 16th overall.
Freshman Thad Austin also competed in the preliminaries, touching the wall in 46.96 to place 26th overall.
100 Breast
In a preliminary heat, Kristaps Mikelsons recorded a time of 52.69 to earn a spot in the C finals. The Latvia native improved his time to a 52.38 in his finals appearance, finishing 19th overall.
Freshman Trey Clervi recorded a time of 53.67 in the preliminaries to place 33rd overall. Joe Umhofer also swam in the 100 breast preliminaries, logging a time of 54.79 to rank 37th.
400 Medley Relay
The team of Jack Berube, Kristaps Mikelsons, Sage Sungail and Harold Lockhart finished tenth after throwing down a time of 3:06.34. Jack Berube's lead-off time of 45.75 was just .01 off of his 100 back school record he set last season.
