SMU walked away from their last meet before the AAC championships with ten new personal best times. The Texas Invitational this weekend also produced three new season best times for the Mustangs as well as two SMU Top-10 performances. 

"We put it together as a team with lots of schedule changes and shuffling of events," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "The women adapted well and came away with marked improvement." 

K'Nyah Isaac had a great weekend with the best times of her career in both the 200 and the 400. She ran a time of 24.13 in the 200, which ties the eighth best time in SMU history. In the 400, she ran 55.71 -- shortly behind Whitney Williams with her time of 55.25. 

Each Mustang that ran the 1,500 in Austin came away with a PR. Leoni Mierswa crossed the finish line first with a time of 4:26.78, which puts her at eighth fastest in SMU history. Macey Hilton followed closely behind in third with 4:28.14 with Kaitlyn Gearin right on her tail with 4:28.79. Jessie Crowley placed sixth with 4:32.37 and Kendall Saeger and Alanis Robineau placed seventh and eighth within a second. Nikoleta Rafailaki placed ninth and Maddie Hulcy placed tenth. 

In the 400 meter hurdles, Emily Waller ran her best time of the season with 1:02.94 for fifth place. The season bests carried over to the field events as well where Hedda Kvalvag jumped 12.56 meters in the triple jump for third place. The 4x400 composed of Nea Sanders, Williams, Waller and Camryn McPhaul also ran their best time of the outdoor season with 3:48.70, which placed them second among the field. 

SMU will now have one weekend off competition before traveling to Florida for the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, which begins on May 12.
