DALLAS (SMU) — SMU volleyball will embark on a 10-day trip, May 21-30, that includes stops throughout Greece and Italy.
"We are really excited to take this 2023 roster to Greece and Italy", head coach Sam Erger said. "This will be SMU volleyball's first ever foreign tour and we are so thankful for the continued belief and investment that SMU has in these girls and this program. We will spend 10 days bonding, competing and growing as a team as we ultimately prepare to chase after our 2023 goals. The work ethic and commitment that this team has shown is remarkable and is deserving of this once in a lifetime opportunity. We feel this marks the beginning of our 2023 season and we're truly thrilled to get started in such incredible destinations."
The Mustangs will face several international teams along the way with stops in Greece and Italy.
The tour begins with four nights in Greece. While there, SMU will face Club Milon in Athens. They will visit the Acropolis and Plaka and sightsee in Sounion and the island of Aegina.
