IRVING, Texas (SMU/The American) – The AAC announced that
Peyton Annen and
Nyah Rose earned AAC Defensive and Freshman of the Week awards on Monday, Sept. 11.
Samantha Estrada was also named to the conference's weekly Honor Roll.

The conference honors follow a 2-0 week for SMU over Big 12 opponents Baylor and Oklahoma State, improving the Mustangs to a 4-2-0 record moving into conference play.
Sophomore
Peyton Annen scored the match winning goal against Oklahoma State in the 16
th minute, marking her second goal as a Mustang and her first of the season.
Annen's contributions on the back line helped the Mustangs shut out the Cowgirls, who entered the match with the nations ninth highest scoring average (3.57).
Freshman
Nyah Rose scored the first goal of SMU's 2-1 win over Baylor on Thursday, upping her goal total to five on season. Rose also recorded her first career assist to senior
Leah Chancey for the match winner in the 60
th minute.
Rose's 5 goals through 6 matches currently ranks as the second highest goal-per-game average in the AAC (0.83).
Graduate Senior
Samantha Estrada earned her second AAC Honor Roll selection of the season after SMU posted a clean sheet versus Oklahoma State and only allowed one goal at Baylor. Estrada recorded seven total saves in 180 minutes played on the week.
Estrada currently ranks second in the AAC in saves-per-game (4.83).
