BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) -- SMU beats all regional rivals in today's race at Texas A&M's Arturo Barrios. The Mustangs placed seventh in a competitive field of 41 teams.
"The team had a solid day in a strong field," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "One of the goals was to beat all of our in region rivals and we did that."
Haynes said she is pleased with Emily Little's progress and her performance today. Little placed 20th out of over 400 athletes with a time of 19:56.5.
"Emily had an amazing day," Haynes said. "She went in with a plan and raced against national level women."
Leoni Mierswa was second across the line for the Mustangs coming in 48th with a time of 20:26.9. Faustine Chaboche ran a time of 20:32.4 for 54th.
"Faustine also put together her best 6k and looked strong doing it," Haynes said.
Flora Tissier followed just seconds behind in 59th for 20:36.2. Macey Hilton ran a time of 21:04.6 for 108th.
The Mustangs will one weekend off from competition before heading into their first Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on November 1st.
