DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- The Mustangs will race in their first Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday morning. The competition will take place at North Carolina State.Â
"The transition to the ACC has been exhilarating," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "The ACC has eight programs ranked in the top-30 nationally with three to four more teams on the heels of a national bid."Â
The roster for tomorrow's race includes Kaitlyn Gearin who placed third in last year's AAC Championship and Emily Little who has been running alongside Gearin all season. Flora Tissier earned All-Conference honors in 2023 and will be racing tomorrow. Also competing will be Leoni Mierswa, Macey Hilton, Ellie Grammas, Faustine Chaboche, and Charlotte Greenwood. SMU heads into this weekend ranked in the top five teams of the South Central Region.Â
"This will be our most challenging competition of the season so far," Haynes said. "The team is prepared for the challenge and will bring SMU energy to the ACC!"Â
The race will begin at 10:30 a.m. (ET). The ACC Network will provide live coverage of the competition.Â
