DALLAS (SMU) – The 21st-ranked SMU men's swimming & diving team broke a school record in the 200 Medley Relay and reached an NCAA 'A' Cut in the 800 Free Relay on Wednesday night at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.

200 Medley Relay
The Mustangs started off the Invite strong in the first relay of the night, with the team of Jack Berube, Joe Rusnock, Russell Exum and Sage Sungail throwing down a time of 1:24.35 to set a new program record and place second in the event.

The B relay squad of Eric Stelmar, Kristaps Mikelsons, Nico Sobenes and Lance Butler placed seventh with a time of 1:26.91, while the team of Rob McCall, Angus Corbeau, Cameron Thompson and Connor McClintic touched the wall in 1:28.23.

800 Free Relay
SMU continued its success during the second event of the day, posting the first NCAA 'A' Cut of the season and setting a new pool record. The team of Jack Hoagland, Jack Forrest, Chris Mykkanen and Harold Lockhart recorded a time of 6:14.62 to place first in the event by almost seven seconds and officially punch their tickets to the NCAA Championships in Seattle.

Michael Ripper, Kristaps Mikelsons, Jack Berube and Graham Hohnbaum earned fourth with a time of 6:26.61 in the event.
